After years of wrestling with Word documents composed of giant tables during undergrad, I finally implemented a LaTeX solution I'm reasonably happy with that makes creating such documents much easier.
I'm not particularly proficient with Word, and whenever I encounter complex issues involving formulas, citations, or references, I always prefer using LaTeX. However, the university always provides templates only in Word format, and these Word documents invariably consist of one massive table — something LaTeX doesn't handle very well. Over the years of trial and error, I gradually arrived at a workable approach, which I finally implemented when writing my graduation thesis proposal. Joy and jubilation.
